DiStruc project title: Directing self-organisation of composite dispersions:role of chirality in the ordered states.

Supervisors: Eric Grelet, Maria Vamvakaki, Célia Mercader

I obtained my bachelor's degree from the Chemistry Department of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. After that I moved to the Institute of High Technologies, which is the part of the same university. From the beginning of my graduate studies I was mostly interested in the synthesis, characterization and practical applying of nanoscale materials. I performed the experimental part of my master thesis at the Institute of Complex Systems, Forschungszentrum Jülich, in Germany.  During this project I dealt with the soft matter area of research, namely, fd-virus production, characterization and modification as well as analysis of complex formation between two oppositely charged viruses.

At the moment I am continuing my research work as a PhD student in the area of Soft Matter under the supervision of Dr. Eric Grelet at the Paul Pascal Research Centre, in Bordeaux. We will investigate directing through chirality the self-organization of complex fluids formed by filamentous bacteriophages and colloidal spheres.
