DiStruc project title: Directed structure and dynamics in mesophases

Supervisors: Paul van der Schoot, Julia Yeomans, Bert Gebben

I studied Physics at the University of São Paulo (Brazil). My master project involved experiments and simulations to study the mechanical properties of actin solutions polymerized in vitro. I am currently doing my PhD at the Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands). The research aims to understand the effect of aspect ratio, bending flexibility and density on both structure and single particle dynamics of dispersions of rod-like particles in liquid crystalline phases using Brownian dynamics computer simulation.
